Mente Detenente di Roberta Argenta costituisce l’ultima tappa di un percorso espositivo a cura di Alessandro Piangiamore, che vede coinvolti gli studenti del terzo anno della NABA- Roma.

Il tema della mostra è la Fuga, ESCAPE.

Argenta ha realizzato una creatura in argilla dalle sembianze umane, un manichino inerte che ha reso protagonista di una video installazione.

Questa creatura ottusa, -un po' Golem un po’ Pinocchio- si muove nella città ed in mezzo alla natura senza poter percepire i segnali esterni con chiarezza. La sua vista è offuscata, il suo udito disturbato, la sua voce assente.

Attraverso i movimenti affannati, goffi e privi di finalità di quest’uomo di argilla, seguiamo lo scorrere delle immagini con crescente senso di spaesamento.

E’ una fuga del senso dunque ciò che abita questo manichino, metafora dell’uomo contemporaneo sempre più sprovvisto di strumenti per leggere il mondo. Il video, della durata di 5 min , è montato in loop: è la stessa giornata che si ripete all’infinito; Nessuna possibilità di fuggire da questa realtà.

La dimensione sonora è curata da Sofia Sanseverino (in arte Akïi), studentessa di sound engineering e musica elettronica presso Institute For Creative Arts & Technology Catalyst, Berlino.

Roberta Argenta's Mente Detenente is the final stage of an exhibition curated by Alessandro Piangiamore, which involves third-year students from NABA-Roma.

The theme of the exhibition is ESCAPE.

Argenta has created a clay creature with human features, an inert mannequin that is the protagonist of a video installation.

This obtuse creature - part Golem, part Pinocchio - moves through the city and nature without being able to clearly perceive external signals. Its vision is blurred, its hearing disturbed, its voice absent.

Through the clumsy, purposeless movements of this clay man, we follow the flow of images with a growing sense of disorientation.

Thus, this mannequin embodies a flight from sense, a metaphor for the contemporary man who is increasingly lacking in tools to read the world

The video, which lasts 5 minutes, is looped: the same day is repeated infinitely, with no possibility of escaping this reality.
